Dr. Amit Meena is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon with special expertise in arthroplasty, arthroscopy, and sports medicine. He currently works as a consultant orthopedic surgeon at Santokba Durlabhji Memorial Hospital (SDMH) in Jaipur, with a particular focus on joint replacement surgeries and complex ligament reconstruction. He is also the founder of KNEECARES—The Superspeciality Knee Clinic, based in Jaipur, India. Dr. Amit completed his orthopaedic residency at the Central Institute of Orthopaedics, located at Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi, which is one of the leading orthopaedic hospitals in the country. He then pursued further training at the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute in Bologna, Italy, under the guidance of Professor Stefano Zaffagnini, where he specialized in knee surgery, knee replacements, and the management of complex ligament injuries. To further expand his knowledge, he trained at Gelenkpunkt – Sports and Joint Surgery, part of the FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence in Innsbruck, Austria, working alongside Professor Christian Fink and Dr. Christian Hoser. His career also took him to North America, where he worked at Western University in Ontario, Canada, under the mentorship of Dr. Alan Getgood, gaining valuable experience in treating complex knee conditions. He later trained in complex and revision hip and knee arthroplasty at Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada. Dr. Amit is an active researcher and author, having published over 100 studies in well-known orthopaedic journals and textbooks. He serves as a manuscript reviewer for several prominent journals, including JBJS, AJSM, CORR, ARTHROSCOPY, KSSTA, JEO, OJSM, and JISAKOS. His contributions have been recognized with the Best Reviewer of the Year award for JEO, the official journal of ESSKA, and he was a finalist for the John J. Joyce and Paolo Aglietti Awards at the ISAKOS Congress 2023 in Boston, USA. Dr. Amit is frequently invited to speak at international conferences, where he discusses advancements in knee surgery and orthopaedics. He was selected as an ISAKOS Global Traveling Fellow for 2023–2025, representing the Asia Pacific region in 2025. He is an active member of several respected orthopaedic organizations, including ISAKOS, ESSKA, APKASS, Magellan Society and the ACL Study group. Committed to patient care, innovation, and research, Dr. Amit continues to make significant contributions to the fields of knee surgery, arthroplasty, and sports medicine on a global scale.
