Dr. Amit Meena is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest and expertise in knee surgery, arthroplasty, arthroscopy, and sports medicine. He currently serves as a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon at Santokba Durlabhji Memorial Hospital (SDMH), Jaipur, with a particular focus on Joint replacement and complex ligament reconstruction. He is also the Founder of KNEECARES – The Superspeciality Knee Clinic, Jaipur, India. Dr. Meena completed his orthopaedic residency at the Central Institute of Orthopaedics, Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi, one of India's premier orthopaedic training centers. He subsequently pursued advanced fellowship training at the renowned Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute, Bologna, Italy, under the mentorship of Prof. Stefano Zaffagnini, specializing in knee surgery, knee replacement, and the management of complex ligament injuries. To further enhance his expertise in joint replacement and sports medicine, he trained at Gelenkpunkt – Sports Traumatology and Joint Surgery, part of the FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence in Innsbruck, Austria, under the guidance of Prof. Christian Fink and Dr. Christian Hoser. He also gained valuable international experience at Western University, Ontario, Canada, working alongside Dr. Alan Getgood, a globally recognized leader in complex knee ligament reconstruction and sports medicine. He later trained in complex and revision hip and knee arthroplasty at Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada. An accomplished researcher and academic, Dr. Meena has authored more than 100 scientific publications in leading orthopaedic journals and textbooks. He serves as a manuscript reviewer for several prestigious journals, including JBJS, AJSM, CORR, Arthroscopy, KSSTA, JEO, OJSM, and JISAKOS. His academic contributions have been recognized with the JEO Best Reviewer of the Year Award, presented during ESSKA congress 2022, Paris, France. He was selected as an ISAKOS Global Traveling Fellow (2023–2025), representing the Asia-Pacific region in 2025. He was also a finalist for the prestigious John J. Joyce and Paolo Aglietti Awards at the ISAKOS Congress 2023 in Boston, USA. Dr. Meena received the JEO (Journal of Experimental Orthopaedics) Best Paper Award 2024–2025 during the ESSKA Congress 2026 in Prague, Czech Republic. He was also honored with the AJSM Podcast Award 2026 at the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) Annual Meeting in Seattle, Washington, USA. A sought-after speaker at national and international conferences, Dr. Meena regularly presents on advancements in knee surgery, joint replacement and joint preservation. He is an active member of several prestigious orthopaedic societies, including ISAKOS, APKASS, the Magellan Society, APOA, and IAS.
