David R Diduch, MD

David Diduch is the Voshell Professor of Sports Medicine in the department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Virginia where he has been in practice for the past 29 years. He is also the Division Head of Sports Medicine, Head Orthopaedic Team Physician for UVA, and the previous Executive Vice Chair and sports fellowship director. After college at the University of North Carolina, he completed medical school at Harvard Medical School, orthopaedic residency and a masters degree at the University of Virginia, and a fellowship in sports medicine and reconstructive knee surgery at the Insall-Scott-Kelly Institute in New York. His practice is in sports medicine, knee and shoulder surgery, with a particular interest in patella instability. He has been active in several committees for AOSSM, is a member of the Herodicus society, the International Patellofemoral Study Group, and prior president of the Virginia Orthopaedic Society. He is very active in research and academic pursuits with over 200 publications, 60 book chapters, and 30 research grants.
