Brian R. Wolf, M.D., M.S., is Professor and Vice- Chairman in the University of Iowa Department of Orthopedic Surgery. He is the John and Kim Callaghan Chair and Director of Sports Medicine at the University of Iowa. Dr. Wolf practices orthopedic sports medicine and treats disorders of the shoulder, elbow, and knee. Dr. Wolf is the Head Team Physician for the University of Iowa football, women's basketball, baseball, and swimming teams. Dr. Wolf was born and raised in Rock Island, Illinois and attended Loyola University Chicago as a scholarship member of their collegiate basketball team. He completed Orthopaedic residency at the University of Iowa and did a sports medicine and shoulder fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. Dr. Wolf's research interests center on clinical outcome studies and multi-center collaborative research. His research has resulted in more than 230 peer-reviewed publications, in addition to over 30 textbook chapters. Dr. Wolf has given more than 200 invited lectures around the world. Dr. Wolf is a Fellow of AAOS, and a member of the AOSSM, AANA, and ASES. His honors include being elected into the AOA, ABJS, and the Herodicus Society. Dr. Wolf has been a part of research that has won two Neer Awards from ASES, two AOSSM O’Donohue Awards, and two AOSSM Herodicus Awards. He was a traveling fellow for the AOSSM exchange with Europe in 2010. He was selected for the esteemed AOA American-British-Canadian Traveling Fellowship in 2013. Dr. Wolf has been listed in U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Doctors in America” since 2007.
